Precision U.S. Specialized Multi-Gauge
Product Description
This multi-gauge contains 12 precision measuring devices and includes a Specialty Perf Gauge, two useful gauges for measuring Grilled issues (the Grill Pattern Gauge used to determine grill type and the Grill Size Gauge, which is used to determine the size of the grill). Also included on this tool is a Parallel Line Millimeter Gauge used to measure the width or height of coil stamps, as well as the parallel accuracy of coil cuts and edges. The Design Size Millimeter Gauge can be used to measure the size of the frame design of Flat Press/Rotary Press issues, while the Rotary/Flat Press Gauge can be utilized to determine what press was used to print a stamp. Finally the tool is useful for assessing both Vending and Affixing Machine perforations. Excellent Gauge

These are excellent - every serious stamp collector should have one. The clear perf gauge is easy to use (even includes private perfs), and it comes with a lot of extra measurement features. The diameter measurements make checking CDS postmarks simple. It includes a 24 centimeter ruler, which is long enough to measure most postal stationery and covers. I can't recommend this enough!
Only downside is that with excessive use, the plastic might roll up at the corners. This usually isn't a problem - you can still take advantage of everything on the gauge.

This gauge has all the things you need to identify your stamps easily and correctly. The fact that it is see-through is great. If you are a serious collector you need one of these.
